Serve as a member of the VSB O’Donnell Center for Professional Development and Undergraduate Programs teams, collaborating with the Director of Mentor Programs. Focus on creating a culture of mentoring and developing impactful mentoring experiences for 400+ undergraduate business students and alumni mentors. Manage the VSB Mentor Program development, student engagement initiatives, and mentoring platform effectiveness. Develop co-curricular initiatives that provide business students with the opportunity for career exploration and professional development through mentoring relationships. Engage with VSB Mentor Program Advisory Board members to develop and implement VSB Mentor Program strategic direction. Play an integral role on the O’Donnell Center team, contributing to the development of a broad range of resources/services including professional development curriculum.
This position is part-time status, 3 days/week for a total of 18-21 hours weekly.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Program Development:
  • Collaborate with Director in developing strategies to enhance and innovate the
    VSB Mentor Program, increasing its effectiveness and strengthening participant impact.
  • Lead the Advisory Board students, collaborate with Advisory Board alumni, and the Mentor Program student assistant to effectively implement improvements across both the Undergraduate and Flash Mentoring tracks.
  • Engage proactively with students, alumni, and VSB/Villanova campus partners to advance the VSB Mentor Program mission and elevate the mentoring experience for every participant.
  • Contribute to the VU Mentorship Programs Council, Villanova’s university-wide mentoring infrastructure, by sharing best practices, supporting cross-campus alignment, and growing the Villanova mentoring community.

Student Engagement:
  • Lead the planning and execution of student promotional, recruitment, engagement, and networking initiatives that support and advance the Mentor Program.
  • Develop and deliver training opportunities and events designed to educate students about the Mentor Program, enhancing their skill development and participation.
  • Responsibilities include coordinating live and virtual Information Sessions; organizing student mentee/alumni mentor kick-off and “meet up” events; planning activities for National Mentoring Month; and managing related social media engagement and campaigns.
  • Actively identify and collect student and mentor Success Stories and testimonials to highlight Program impact.

Platform Management:
  • Develop expertise with mentoring software platform and build a strong working
    relationship with vendor(s).
  • Identify opportunities to leverage software to enhance program effectiveness.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to O’Donnell Center for Professional Development team and Clay Center initiatives, including the on-going development and implementation of the Backpack-to-Briefcase Program professional development curriculum.
  • Perform additional duties and assist with special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Formal Education
  • Bachelor’s degree
Minimum Work Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience
  • Outstanding relationship builder and team player; highly collaborative style; ability to work effectively and gain the respect and confidence of various constituencies including students, alumni, faculty, professional staff, administrators, internal and external stakeholders including vendors.
  • Able to manage initiatives independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Solid technology skills/aptitude, including Excel, Canva, PowerPoint, Word, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Demonstrate a deep commitment to the well-being of the Villanova School of Business, University, and University’s Augustinian Catholic heritage, and the advancement of its mission and to serving the needs of a diverse community.
Preferred Qualifications:
Formal Education
  • Master’s degree required in Higher Education, Counseling, Human Resources, Business or related discipline.
Work Experience
  • Three to five years of professional experience.
  • Experience in higher education and/or business, knowledge of mentoring and student development, relationship building, cross-functional working, program management, event planning/marketing.
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours:
Occasional evening/weekend commitments during academic year and infrequent off-campus travel.
Special Message to Applicants:
This part-time position is expected to work three days per week on-campus to support the O’Donnell Center for Professional Development within the Villanova School of Business, for a total of approximately 18–21 hours a week. Flexible scheduling and hybrid work arrangements may be considered based on Center needs and will be discussed during the interview process. Because of the value we place on the servicing our students, our strong preference is for applicants who can commit to regular on-campus hours at Villanova University.

Salary Posting Information:
This position falls within hourly grade 13 and the range is $24.52-33.98/hr. The final salary will be determined with consideration of several factors including the selected candidate’s qualifications, department budget availability, market data, and internal equity.
