Principal, Payer Market Strategy

Location: Remote - US
Position Type: Full time
Requisition ID: JR10605

Description

Veradigm is looking for a senior strategist to help shape how our solutions serve Health Plans, Managed Care Organizations, and government-sponsored programs. You'll sit at the intersection of product, regulation, and go-to-market, turning shifts in the payer landscape (CMS rule changes, STAR ratings, risk adjustment, interoperability mandates) into clear strategy that Product, Sales, and Executive leadership can act on.

This is an individual contributor role for someone who leads through expertise and credibility, not headcount. You'll set direction on complex, ambiguous problems and be the person other teams turn to when they need to understand what the payer market needs.

What you'll do

  • Shape solution strategy and market positioning for our Payer-facing platforms, partnering closely with Product and Engineering on roadmap and requirements
  • Run structured Voice of Customer programs (advisory councils, win/loss analysis, journey mapping) and translate what you hear into prioritized product decisions
  • Track and interpret payer regulatory change (CMS STAR ratings, risk adjustment, prior authorization rules, NCQA/HEDIS, interoperability mandates) and brief stakeholders on what it means for our roadmap and go-to-market
  • Act as the subject-matter expert for Sales on complex, strategic payer deals
  • Build senior relationships with Health Plan executives, medical directors, and operations leaders to keep Veradigm ahead of market shifts
  • Represent Veradigm's point of view on payer market dynamics externally, through conference talks, published analysis, or industry panels, as opportunities arise

What you'll bring (required)

  • 5+ years working in or selling into Health Plans, MCOs, or government health programs (Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, ACA marketplace)
  • 4+ years in growth strategy, product strategy, or market strategy roles
  • Demonstrated fluency in payer regulatory frameworks (CMS STAR ratings, HEDIS/NCQA standards, risk adjustment, prior authorization rules), with the ability to translate regulatory change into product and GTM decisions
  • Strong track record influencing cross-functional teams without formal authority

Nice to have

  • Experience formally leading VOC programs (advisory boards, structured interviews, journey mapping)
  • Experience shaping pricing, packaging, or value-based positioning for enterprise deals
  • A public voice in the payer space, speaking, writing, or industry recognition

Travel

  • Up to 25% travel

Compensation Range:

$130,241-$189,502

Compensation for this job is subject to market conditions, geographic considerations, the candidate’s unique skills and experience, state and local laws, and budget.
