Quality Technician

JOB TITLE: QUALITY TECHNICIAN – Manheim & Elizabethtown

Non-Exempt Position

REPORTS TO: Quality Supervisor

DEPARTMENT: Quality

BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for receipt, in-process, and final inspection of materials, assemblies, and products.

GENERAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform inspection of materials and assemblies sourced from outside suppliers
• Perform inspection of in-process and finished products
• Perform inspection of welded joints of assemblies for conformance with applicable weld standards, blueprints, and work order specifications
• Document results of inspections
• Work with others within Quality Department and other departments as necessary to communicate and resolve nonconformances and other quality-related issues

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or acceptable equivalent
• Vocational education in electromechanical technology or similar preferred
• Ability to operate various measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, and tape measures
• CMM operation experience preferred
• 1-3 years of quality control experience or similar preferred
• 1-3 years welding inspection experience preferred
• Knowledge of AWS D14.0 preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Mix of sitting/standing/walking 8 hours/day
• Occasional lifting up to 65 pounds
• Good eyesight, either natural or corrected

• High mechanical/technical aptitude
• Ability to interpret technical drawings
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
• Computer skills including Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and SharePoint
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to investigate and solve problems
• Excellent organizational abilities
• Ability to manage many tasks simultaneously
• Conduct all interactions with customers, vendors, field sales representatives, and coworkers in a focused, positive, courteous, and respectful manner
