Description:


ATA is seeking to hire a highly organized and detail-oriented Temporary Paralegal to work on an assignment in Albuquerque. This position is ideal for an experienced paralegal or legal professional with strong editing, document management, and project coordination skills.


  • Pay rate: $35.00 per hour with weekly pay
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Assignment Length: 3–5 Months
  • Location: In-Office Northeast Albuquerque – NOT A REMOTE POSITION


Position Summary

The Paralegal will provide advanced administrative and legal support, conduct research and analysis, edit and format legal and regulatory documents, and assist with special projects requiring a high level of accuracy and professionalism. The successful candidate must be able to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct advanced legal, regulatory, and administrative research.
  • Edit, proofread, and format legal documents, reports, and official correspondence.
  • Assist with drafting, revising, and maintaining documents related to the New Mexico Administrative Code (NMAC).
  • Coordinate and manage special projects from planning through completion.
  • Analyze complex issues and recommend solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with program staff and information technology personnel on project initiatives.
  • Provide program analysis, planning, and consultation services.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with internal staff, external stakeholders, and customers.
  • Operate independently while ensuring compliance with established procedures and standards.
  • May assist with deposits and cash transactions, as assigned.
  • Support the agency's mission through proactive customer service and professional interactions.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Paralegal certificate required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of paralegal or comparable professional experience.
  • Experience editing and formatting legal, regulatory, or government documents.
  • Experience working with or preparing documents for the New Mexico Administrative Code (NMAC) is highly preferred.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    • Microsoft Excel
    • Outlook
    • PowerPoint
  • Exceptional editing, proofreading, and document formatting skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Professional judgment and discretion when handling confidential information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a government, legal, or regulatory environment.
  • Knowledge of state administrative rulemaking processes.
