Responsibilities

The Production and Logistics Manager is essential to our operations and is responsible for:

 

Production Management:

  • Support the Plant Manager with SQDCI, HR, EHS, OSHA compliance, and certification requirements, helping maintain safe operations, audit readiness, and compliance performance.
  • Lead continuous improvement across key manufacturing processes to improve throughput, reduce downtime, and increase labor efficiency.
  • Partner with plant leadership to execute production plans, manage KPIs, and improve schedule attainment, changeover efficiency, and daily output performance.
  • Drive proactive maintenance and lean manufacturing practices to reduce waste, improve inventory turns, sustain strong 6S standards, and support cost and service targets.

Logistics, Purchasing, and Inventory Control:

  • Manage logistics, shipping, freight, and carrier relationships to support accurate, on-time delivery and competitive transportation costs.
  • Use JD Edwards / EnterpriseOne (E1) to manage purchasing, inventory, and production transactions with a focus on transaction accuracy, inventory integrity, and timely reporting.
  • Coordinate with internal business partners to resolve supply, payment, and material issues quickly while improving spending discipline and supplier responsiveness.
  • Lead monthly inventory and receiving processes to improve record accuracy, support material availability, and meet customer and operational requirements.

 

Ability to work overtime and travel as needed, with expected travel below 15%, to support business continuity and plant performance.

 

Perform other duties assigned by leadership to improve operational performance and support plant objectives.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Experience in MRP systems required; Oracle or JD Edwards experience preferred, with the ability to support accurate transactions and operational visibility.
  • Logistics or freight experience required, preferably in a manufacturing environment, with a track record of supporting on-time delivery and cost control.
  • High school diploma required; associate degree or higher preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn new systems quickly to support accurate reporting, planning, and issue resolution.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, judgment, and problem-solving skills with the ability to drive timely decisions and execution.
  • High sense of urgency and ability to work effectively through others to achieve service, cost, and productivity goals.
