Machine Operator
Brasstech, a subsidiary of the Fortune 500 Masco Corporation, is a leading manufacturer of decorative high-end plumbing fixtures. We are looking for a Machine Operator.
The Machine Operator will, Operate a variety of machines to produce precision parts to the required specifications. Inspect parts to verify conformity to specifications.
Job responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes (manual & CNC), milling machines, or grinders.
- Measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers and vernier calipers and attribute gages.
- Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
- Monitor and review information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.
- Inspect equipment, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum 2 years experience as a machine operator
- Background working in a job shop environment.
- Knowledge of Watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
- Use mathematics to solve problems.
- Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
- Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
- Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and basic maintenance.
- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations.
- Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
- Experience working with brass alloys.
- Ability to identify non-conforming items and provide corrective action
