Receptionist

We are looking for an experienced and dependable Receptionist to support daily front-desk operations in Syracuse, New York. This Contract position is ideal for someone who enjoys creating a welcoming environment while managing a steady flow of phone and visitor activity. The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple calls efficiently throughout the day.

Responsibilities:
• Welcome visitors, provide directional assistance, and maintain a detail-oriented front-office presence at all times.
• Manage a multi-line phone system by answering incoming calls promptly, directing them to the appropriate contacts, and taking accurate messages when needed.
• Operate the office switchboard efficiently to ensure calls are routed smoothly across several internal lines.
• Respond to general inquiries from callers and guests with courtesy, clarity, and excellent service.
• Keep the reception area organized and presentable to support a positive experience for employees and visitors.
• Support basic administrative tasks such as message distribution, call tracking, and routine front-desk coordination.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in a receptionist, front-desk, or customer-facing administrative role.
• Ability to manage incoming calls across a multi-line phone or switchboard system.
• Strong verbal communication skills with a courteous and detail-oriented phone manner.
• Comfortable handling a high volume of inbound calls while staying organized and accurate.
• Dependable attendance and the ability to remain composed in a busy office setting.
• Basic administrative and office coordination skills with attention to detail.

Compensation

$20.00-$25.00 Hourly
