Bookkeeper

We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support day-to-day financial operations for a Contract position based in Buxton, Maine. This role is well suited for someone who can maintain accurate records, manage routine accounting tasks, and keep financial information organized in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with QuickBooks and a strong understanding of payables, receivables, and account reconciliation.

Responsibilities:
• Maintain complete and accurate financial records by recording daily transactions and organizing supporting documentation.
• Process vendor invoices and payments in a timely manner while monitoring outstanding obligations and resolving discrepancies.
• Prepare and issue customer invoices, track incoming payments, and follow up on overdue balances as needed.
• Reconcile bank activity regularly to ensure account balances align with internal records and investigate any variances.
• Update and manage accounting data within QuickBooks to support reliable reporting and efficient financial workflows.
• Review financial entries for accuracy and consistency, making corrections when necessary to preserve data integrity.
• Assist with routine financial reporting by compiling account information and preparing summaries for review.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience performing bookkeeping duties in a business setting.
• Practical working knowledge of QuickBooks for daily accounting and record maintenance.
• Experience handling accounts payable processes, including invoice review and payment tracking.
• Experience managing accounts receivable activities such as billing, collections, and payment posting.
• Ability to complete bank reconciliations accurately and identify discrepancies efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain organized and accurate financial records.
• Good communication and time management skills to handle multiple accounting tasks effectively.

Compensation

$22.00-$24.00 Hourly
