Legal Assistant
We are looking for an experienced Legal Assistant to join a boutique law firm in California, supporting attorneys with a busy civil litigation practice. This on-site opportunity is a contract-to-permanent position for a detail-oriented candidate who can balance legal support and administrative coordination in a deadline-driven environment. The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of court procedures, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities with accuracy and discretion.
Responsibilities:
• Draft, revise, and finalize pleadings, correspondence, agreements, and other legal materials with a high level of accuracy and care.
• Maintain litigation schedules by tracking hearings, discovery timelines, trial-related dates, and other critical case milestones.
• Submit filings through state and federal court e-filing systems, including One Legal, while ensuring all documents meet court requirements.
• Review incoming notices, correspondence, and court communications, then record and update deadlines in accordance with applicable rules.
• Arrange key litigation events such as depositions, mediations, hearings, and law and motion proceedings.
• Organize and preserve both digital and paper case records so matters remain current, accessible, and well documented.
• Coordinate attorney schedules, client meetings, and court-related appointments to support efficient daily operations.
• Prepare supporting litigation materials, including court forms, jury instructions, and other case-related documentation.
• Uphold confidentiality standards and provide dependable administrative assistance across a range of legal support activities.
Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of experience in a Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary role supporting civil litigation matters.
• Working knowledge of litigation workflow, legal terminology, court procedures, and California filing practices.
• Hands-on experience managing calendars for discovery, hearings, depositions, mediations, motions, and trial deadlines.
• Proficiency with court e-filing platforms, including One Legal, for both state and federal submissions.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong ability to prepare, edit, proofread, and format legal documents with close attention to detail.
• Experience with Adobe Acrobat, court forms, and litigation support materials such as jury instructions.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities independently while collaborating effectively and maintaining strict confidentiality.
