Purchase Specialist
We are looking for a Purchase Specialist to support procurement operations for a non-profit organization in Dayton, Ohio. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can manage purchasing tasks with accuracy, maintain strong vendor coordination, and keep administrative processes organized. The role focuses on handling day-to-day purchasing activities, processing orders efficiently, and supporting the purchasing department with dependable service. Responsibilities:
• Manage daily procurement activities by reviewing requests, sourcing needed items, and ensuring purchases align with organizational needs.
• Prepare, submit, and track purchase orders while maintaining accurate records and documentation throughout the buying process.
• Coordinate with vendors to confirm pricing, product availability, delivery schedules, and service expectations.
• Support the purchasing department with administrative tasks, status updates, and follow-up communication related to open orders.
• Monitor purchasing transactions to help ensure timely fulfillment, proper approvals, and compliance with internal procedures.
• Work with internal stakeholders to clarify order details, resolve purchasing issues, and maintain smooth procurement workflows.
• Maintain organized purchasing files and reports to support visibility into spending activity and order history.
• Assist with merchant services coordination as needed to support payment-related purchasing activities.
Qualifications:
• Experience performing purchasing functions in a detail-focused office, administrative, or procurement environment.• Working knowledge of creating and processing purchase orders with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple purchasing activities simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Familiarity with supporting a purchasing department through coordination, documentation, and follow-up tasks.
• Experience communicating with vendors and internal teams in a clear and detail-focused manner.
• Proficiency with standard office systems and purchasing records management.
• Understanding of merchant services or payment-related processes associated with purchasing operations.
Compensation
