Clinical Application Support Specialist
We are looking for a Clinical Application Support Specialist to provide expert support for healthcare software used across clinical environments in Florida. This contract-to-permanent position connects clinical teams with technology partners to keep essential applications reliable, efficient, and aligned with patient care needs. The role combines hands-on troubleshooting, user education, workflow improvement, and collaboration with internal teams and external vendors. While the position is primarily remote, it includes travel to facilities as needed to support implementations, training, and onsite issue resolution.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as the main point of contact for clinical application support, helping staff resolve software issues that affect daily operations and patient care.
• Investigate system errors, workflow disruptions, and user concerns, then identify practical solutions or escalate issues when necessary.
• Deliver training and guidance to clinicians and operational teams so they can use clinical applications accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with standards.
• Review existing clinical processes and recommend application or workflow enhancements that improve usability, accuracy, and care delivery.
• Support documentation-related tools, including platforms used for provider dictation, transcription, scheduling, and insurance verification.
• Create and maintain user guides, process documents, support materials, and workflow references for clinical systems.
• Work closely with IT staff, third-party vendors, and other stakeholders to coordinate upgrades, maintenance activities, and system improvements.
• Communicate outages, updates, resolutions, and support status clearly to frontline users as well as leadership teams.
• Travel to assigned facilities to assist with onsite support, application rollouts, training sessions, and troubleshooting activities.
• Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation to help ensure timely response to urgent application issues.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, information technology, or a related discipline, or at least 3 years of experience in a clinical, rehabilitation, or healthcare environment.• Working knowledge of application support principles and general information technology concepts within healthcare settings.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving software, system, or workflow issues; troubleshooting ability is strongly preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills with the ability to explain technical topics to non-technical users.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and stay effective in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Project coordination or project management experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with technologies such as Active Directory, Dell hardware, computer hardware support, application support tools, and Cisco technologies is beneficial.
• Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and ability to maintain insurability for work-related travel.
