Benefits Specialist
Responsibilities:
• Oversee day-to-day administration of employee benefit offerings, including self-funded medical plans, while maintaining accurate records and timely processing
• Respond to employee questions about coverage, eligibility, and enrollment, offering clear guidance during annual benefits enrollment periods
• Review benefits data for accuracy, identify discrepancies, and complete audits to help maintain compliance and dependable reporting
• Test benefit system configurations and confirm that plan setup, eligibility rules, and enrollment details are functioning correctly
• Reconcile carrier invoices, enrollment files, and billing information to resolve mismatches and support accurate payments
• Coordinate with human resources, payroll, and external providers to address benefit issues and ensure smooth service delivery
• Assist with plan changes, reporting needs, and periodic reviews related to benefit administration activities
• Support knowledge transfer and onboarding activities for the permanent team member to enable a smooth transition at the close of the assignment
Qualifications:
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in benefits administration• Proven experience supporting self-funded medical plans
• Prior involvement in annual or open enrollment administration
• Strong capability in data auditing, billing review, and benefits-related system testing
• Experience using benefits administration platforms such as bswift is preferred
• Familiarity with HR systems and related benefits technology is preferred
• Excellent attention to detail, sound problem-solving ability, and comfort working independently in a remote setting
Compensation
