Accounting Manager

Robert Half Management Resources is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager for one our clients on an interim basis. This role will oversee day-to-day accounting activities, support leadership with meaningful financial insights, and help maintain strong reporting accuracy across the organization. The ideal candidate brings a hands-on background in closing processes, reconciliations, and financial oversight, along with the ability to guide teams and improve business performance through sound analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Lead daily accounting operations, ensuring financial activity is recorded accurately and supported by appropriate documentation and approvals.

• Oversee monthly and annual close cycles, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and review of general ledger activity.

• Prepare financial statements, internal management reports, budgets, and forecasts to support informed business decisions.

• Monitor compliance with applicable tax regulations, internal controls, and accounting standards while helping safeguard company assets.

• Evaluate financial results, identify performance trends and variances, and present practical recommendations to improve short- and long-range outcomes.

• Partner with leadership on profit planning, annual budgeting, and financial scenario analysis for operational and strategic initiatives.

• Support capital spending reviews by analyzing major projects and ensuring financial information is complete before executive or board review.

• Review audit observations and control issues regularly, driving corrective actions and confirming ongoing compliance.

• Provide coaching, guidance, and clear procedures to accounting staff and other employees involved in financial processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; equivalent practical experience may also be considered.
• At least 8 years of progressive accounting experience with broad knowledge across core accounting functions.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to operational finance and cost-related activities.
• Strong command of month-end close, general ledger management, journal entries, and account reconciliation.
• Experience preparing financial reports and supporting financial statement audits.
• Solid understanding of internal controls, standard accounting practices, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to explain findings clearly to management.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, and accounting systems, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Compensation

$50.00-$60.00 Hourly
