DevOps Engineer

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to strengthen cloud operations and modern delivery practices for a Long-term, remote contract position. In this role, you will work closely with engineering teams to maintain reliable infrastructure, improve application deployment workflows, and support secure production environments. The ideal candidate brings strong experience with Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, automation, and CI/CD tooling, along with a practical approach to operational excellence and platform stability.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and enhance cloud infrastructure running in Google Cloud Platform to support scalable, resilient application environments.

• Administer Kubernetes clusters, resolve platform issues, and help ensure dependable containerized deployments in production.

• Design, maintain, and optimize CI/CD workflows using GitLab to streamline software releases and improve delivery consistency.

• Create and manage Infrastructure as Code solutions with Terraform to standardize provisioning and reduce configuration drift.

• Support GitOps-based deployment practices with tools such as Argo CD and Helm to improve release control and traceability.

• Track system reliability, application performance, and security signals through observability platforms such as Datadog.

• Investigate production incidents, address operational risks, and help remediate vulnerabilities affecting service availability.

• Partner with software engineers to strengthen deployment reliability, improve developer workflows, and increase platform effectiveness.

• Automate recurring operational tasks through scripting and tooling to minimize manual intervention and boost efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or Platform Operations roles.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Google Cloud Platform and supporting production cloud environments.
• Proven background managing Kubernetes platforms and troubleshooting containerized applications.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, including work with GitLab.
• Solid knowledge of Infrastructure as Code practices using Terraform.
• Understanding of cloud networking, load balancing, monitoring, and observability concepts.
• Proficiency with automation or scripting, including Python and related operational tooling.
• Familiarity with security practices, cloud-native architectures, and modern software delivery methods.

Compensation

$63.34-$73.34 Hourly
