Full Charge Bookkeeper

We are looking for a Full Charge Bookkeeper to join a client-focused accounting environment in Stuart, Florida. This contract-to-permanent position is ideal for someone who can independently oversee day-to-day bookkeeping activities, keep multiple sets of financial records organized, and deliver accurate reporting. The right candidate brings strong QuickBooks experience, a solid grasp of core accounting principles, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients while managing deadlines across several accounts.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee end-to-end bookkeeping activities for multiple client accounts, ensuring records remain accurate, current, and well organized.
• Prepare trial balances, record adjusting entries, and maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
• Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements by researching discrepancies and resolving outstanding items promptly.
• Enter, classify, and review financial transactions to support clean and reliable accounting data.
• Generate financial statements and related reports for internal review and client accounting support.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities to help ensure timely and complete reporting.
• Provide support with tax return preparation when needed, which is strongly preferred for this role.
• Communicate with clients in a clear and organized manner to request documentation, clarify account activity, and address inconsistencies.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in bookkeeping, ideally within an accounting firm or multi-client service environment.
• Hands-on proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, or both.
• Strong understanding of debits, credits, general ledger activity, and trial balance preparation.
• Demonstrated experience handling bank and credit card reconciliations with a high degree of accuracy.
• Ability to manage accounts payable and accounts receivable responsibilities as part of full-cycle bookkeeping.
• Tax preparation exposure is highly valued, though not required.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while managing several client files.
• Must be able to work onsite in Stuart, Florida.

Compensation

$22.80-$26.40 Hourly
