Accountant

We are looking for an Accountant to join our team in Honolulu, Hawaii in a Contract to permanent capacity. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting specialist who can manage core financial activities, maintain accurate records, and support timely reporting. The position offers the opportunity to contribute across multiple accounting functions while helping ensure the integrity of day-to-day financial operations. Due to the nature of the work and onsite requirements, preference will be given to Hawaii residents. Applicants should be able to reliably commute or reside within the region to meet business needs. Responsibilities:

• Manage daily accounting activities across payables, receivables, and general ledger functions to maintain accurate financial records.

• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring transactions are recorded correctly and supported by proper documentation.

• Reconcile bank accounts and investigate variances to resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

• Assist with the preparation of financial reports and perform analysis to support informed business decisions.

• Maintain schedules related to accruals, amortization, and fixed asset depreciation to support month-end and ongoing accounting processes.

• Review account activity, identify inconsistencies, and take corrective action to improve accuracy and compliance.

• Support closing activities by organizing records, validating balances, and ensuring deadlines are met.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of accounting experience, including recent hands-on work in a detail-focused setting.
• Practical experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounting.
• Ability to prepare journal entries and complete bank reconciliations with strong attention to detail.
• Experience producing financial reports and analyzing accounting data for accuracy and completeness.
• Familiarity with accounting software and standard financial systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to research and resolve discrepancies effectively.

Compensation

$28.00-$34.00 Hourly
