Accounts Payable Clerk

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to support financial operations in Port Arthur, Texas. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can manage invoice activity, maintain accurate records, and communicate effectively with vendors and customers. The role requires strong organizational skills, careful data handling, and the ability to keep payment-related processes moving efficiently.

Responsibilities:
• Review incoming invoices, assign appropriate coding, and enter payment details accurately into company records.
• Process accounts payable transactions in a timely manner while maintaining organized documentation for audit and tracking purposes.
• Communicate with vendors to address billing questions, resolve discrepancies, and support positive business relationships.
• Assist with collection-related activities by following up on outstanding items and helping keep account balances current.
• Perform high-volume data entry with close attention to accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
• Respond to customer and internal inquiries regarding invoice status, payment activity, and account information.
• Verify billing information before processing to help reduce errors and prevent payment delays.

Qualifications:

• Experience working in accounts payable or a similar finance support position.
• Ability to code invoices accurately and process them efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with billing, collections, and vendor communication practices.
• Effective customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
• Basic understanding of invoice review, payment processing, and recordkeeping procedures.
• Proficiency with standard office and financial software used for transaction entry and tracking.

Compensation

$19.79-$22.91 Hourly
