Bookkeeper

We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support day-to-day financial operations for a Contract position based in Southfield, Michigan. This opportunity is ideal for someone who is confident managing core accounting tasks, maintaining accurate records, and producing reliable financial reports. The role requires strong experience with QuickBooks and a consistent approach to handling payables, receivables, and account reconciliation.

Responsibilities:
• Maintain accurate financial records by recording daily transactions and organizing supporting documentation
• Process vendor invoices and payments while ensuring accounts payable activities are completed on time
• Monitor incoming payments, apply receipts correctly, and follow up on outstanding balances as part of accounts receivable management
• Reconcile bank and financial accounts regularly to identify discrepancies and keep records current
• Update and manage the general ledger to support accurate month-end and ongoing financial reporting
• Prepare key financial statements, including balance sheets and profit and loss reports, for review
• Enter receipt details and other source documents into QuickBooks with a high level of accuracy
• Use QuickBooks Online to track financial activity and maintain clean, accessible accounting data

Qualifications:

• Proven experience performing bookkeeping duties in a detail-focused business environment
• Hands-on proficiency with QuickBooks, including QuickBooks Online
• Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance
• Experience completing bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies efficiently
• Ability to prepare and review balance sheets and profit and loss statements
• Strong attention to detail with accurate data entry and recordkeeping skills
• Effective organizational and time management abilities in a deadline-driven setting

Compensation

$22.16-$25.66 Hourly
