Accounting Assistant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support daily financial operations for a non-profit organization in Lake Mary, Florida. This Contract position will focus on maintaining accurate records, assisting with transaction processing, and helping the accounting team stay organized and compliant. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with both payables and receivables, reconciling accounts, and using NetSuite to manage financial data.

Responsibilities:
• Process vendor invoices, assign appropriate accounting codes, and prepare items for timely payment.
• Record incoming payments, update customer account balances, and help keep receivables current.
• Perform bank and account reconciliations to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain organized financial documentation and ensure transactions are entered correctly in the accounting system.
• Support routine accounting activities by reviewing records, tracking outstanding items, and assisting with month-to-month financial tasks.
• Use NetSuite to enter, update, and monitor accounting information across daily workflows.

Qualifications:

• Experience supporting accounting operations with a focus on accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Ability to reconcile bank activity and identify inconsistencies in financial records.
• Familiarity with coding invoices accurately according to accounting guidelines.
• Hands-on experience using NetSuite for accounting or financial data entry tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling transactions and documentation.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a contract assignment environment.

Compensation

$22.00-$22.50 Hourly
