Financial Consultant
We are looking for an experienced Financial Consultant to provide senior-level financial leadership on a contract basis. This position is suited for someone with a strong FP& A perspective who can guide budgeting, cash oversight, and financial performance analysis through the close of the fiscal year. The role will partner closely with leadership to strengthen financial visibility, support decision-making, and ensure sound management of banking activity, working capital, and revenue operations.
Responsibilities:
• Lead oversight of the company's budgeting process and evaluate profitability trends in partnership with the Controller and leadership team.
• Direct cash flow planning and provide forward-looking financial analysis to support operational and strategic decisions.
• Manage key banking relationships, including review and administration of wire activity, disbursements, and check authorization controls.
• Oversee billing and collections performance to help maintain a healthy cash position and improve revenue realization.
• Prepare and present financial reporting, forecasts, and business insights for executive stakeholders.
• Support month-end financial review activities by assessing results, identifying variances, and recommending corrective actions.
• Apply financial guidance within a services environment, with awareness of the operational dynamics of legal organizations.
• Advise leadership on capital management priorities and financial risk considerations to support fiscal stability.
Qualifications:
• 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including senior-level consulting, FP& A, or CFO-aligned responsibilities.
• Demonstrated expertise in cash flow analysis, capital management, and financial reporting.
• Strong background overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
• Experience managing banking activity, disbursements, billing, and collections controls.
• Must have worked in a professional services capacity.
• Understanding of detail-oriented services business models, ideally within legal or related environments.
• Knowledge of month-end close processes and the ability to interpret financial results for leadership audiences.
• Familiarity with business systems and the ability to use financial data to drive recommendations.
• Excellent executive communication skills and the ability to operate effectively in an interim leadership capacity.
