Cash Receipts - JR Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Manage high-volume accounts payable activities for multiple business units, ensuring invoices are reviewed, coded correctly, and processed on schedule.
• Maintain vendor records, validate onboarding documentation, and confirm adherence to tax reporting requirements such as W-9 and 1099 compliance.
• Prepare payment runs, assemble supporting documentation, and investigate discrepancies involving invoices, reimbursements, outstanding checks, or stale-dated payments.
• Serve as a point of contact for departments and field teams regarding payables questions, policy clarification, and documentation requirements.
• Process employee reimbursements, petty cash submissions, mileage claims, and corporate card activity with accuracy and timely follow-up on missing or incomplete details.
• Record journal entries related to prepaid items, accruals, credit card activity, expense allocations, and reclassifications to support accurate financial reporting.
• Reconcile accounts payable aging, subsidiary ledgers, and assigned balance sheet accounts on a regular basis to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close tasks, audit support, filing standards, and additional accounting projects as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications:
• Experience supporting accounts payable or general accounting functions in an entry-level accounting role.• Working knowledge of account reconciliation, bank reconciliations, accounts receivable, and accounting entries.
• Ability to review financial documentation carefully and apply correct general ledger coding.
• Familiarity with vendor maintenance processes and basic tax documentation requirements, including W-9 and 1099 forms.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a high-volume environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external vendors.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and spreadsheet tools used for transaction processing and reporting.
