Part-Time Claims Coordinator

We are looking for an Insurance Claims Coordinator to review rejected or denied insurance claims for a Contract position in Lansing, Michigan. This role focuses on reviewing, investigating, and correcting denied or rejected insurance carries by identifying issues and researching how to resolve and resubmit. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with insurance companies and internal teams to resolve coverage questions and claim-related issues. Part-Time MWF 8:00AM-5:00PM, with the opportunity for hybrid work M/F.

Responsibilities:

• Review and investigate denied or rejected insurance billings.

• Identify billing, coding, or documentation discrepancies.

• Communicate with insurance carriers, provider offices, and patients to clarify coverage information and documentation needs.

• Submit corrected billings through insurance carrier portals.

• Maintain accurate records of verification outcomes, authorization status, and follow-up activity in the appropriate systems.

• Support resolution of insurance-related claim issues by researching denials and coordinating next steps with billing or clinical teams.

• Monitor payer guidelines and apply current requirements when processing verification and authorization requests.

Qualifications:

• Familiarity with claim denials, insurance claims workflow, and common reimbursement challenges.

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to document information accurately and follow up on outstanding items.

• Effective communication skills for interacting with insurance representatives, patients, and internal stakeholders.

• Ability to manage multiple accounts or requests while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment, independently

• Proficiency with standard office systems and healthcare-related documentation tools.

• Experience with Therapy Notes is a plus
