Accounting Specialist

We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to support day-to-day financial operations for a team based in Texas. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who is comfortable managing both payables and receivables while keeping billing and accounting records accurate and up to date. The role calls for strong attention to detail, efficiency in processing high volumes of transactions, and the ability to contribute to month-end activities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
• Manage outgoing payments and incoming receipts by processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and on schedule.
• Prepare and issue invoices, monitor billing activity, and follow up on outstanding balances to help maintain healthy cash flow.
• Reconcile account activity by reviewing financial records, identifying discrepancies, and resolving variances in a timely manner.
• Support month-end close efforts through transaction review, documentation updates, and coordination of accounting records.
• Enter financial data into accounting systems with a high degree of accuracy while maintaining organized and complete records.
• Handle large volumes of invoicing and related accounting tasks while meeting deadlines and quality expectations.
• Assist with general accounting operations as needed to support accurate reporting and daily departmental workflow.

Qualifications:

• Experience working in accounting support roles with hands-on responsibility for both accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Demonstrated ability to manage billing processes, prepare invoices, and track payment activity accurately.
• Strong account reconciliation skills with the ability to investigate and correct discrepancies.
• Familiarity with month-end close support and routine accounting functions.
• Ability to process high-volume transactions while maintaining accuracy and organization.
• Proficiency in data entry and working within accounting or financial systems.
• Detail-oriented approach with solid time management and communication skills.

Compensation

$25.65-$29.70 Hourly
