Collections Specialist

We are looking for a Collections Specialist to support a manufacturing organization in Anoka, Minnesota. This Contract position is ideal for someone who can manage receivables with professionalism, communicate effectively with customers and internal teams, and help improve payment performance. The right candidate will bring a strong sense of accountability, sound judgment, and experience working through collection and billing-related issues in a business environment.

Responsibilities:
• Contact customers and internal departments to follow up on past-due balances and drive timely payment resolution.
• Review accounts placed on credit hold, assess outstanding issues, and coordinate next steps to support order release when appropriate.
• Investigate invoice questions and partner with customers to resolve discrepancies that may delay payment.
• Provide requested billing and payment documentation to customers in a timely and accurate manner.
• Work closely with sales, finance, and other business partners to address delinquent accounts and improve collection results.
• Maintain clear account records, document collection activity, and update relevant systems with current status information.
• Apply sound judgment when evaluating account situations, escalating higher-risk matters as needed for review.
• Support accounts receivable operations by helping manage collection workflows, billing concerns, and customer communication related to payment activity.

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of experience in credit, collections, or accounts receivable, preferably in a business-to-business environment.
• Preferred educational background in business management, finance, economics, or a related field.
• Familiarity with collection and financial systems such as Get Paid, JD Edwards, Infor, M3, or similar platforms is preferred.
• Ability to assess credit-related situations and make informed decisions in moderately complex account scenarios.
• Experience handling invoice research, billing support, and dispute resolution with strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency working with accounting software, CRM tools, and accounts receivable processes.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal teams and customer contacts.

Compensation

$25.00-$28.00 Hourly
