Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team in Keene, New Hampshire on a Contract basis. This role is ideal for someone in accounting who can support accurate financial reporting, maintain strong control over ledger activity, and contribute to a smooth close process. The right candidate will bring hands-on expertise in reconciliations, journal entry preparation, and general accounting operations within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
• Lead key activities tied to the monthly close cycle, ensuring financial data is completed accurately and on schedule.
• Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation and alignment to accounting standards.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by reviewing account activity and resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Perform detailed account reconciliations and investigate variances to support reliable financial reporting.
• Complete bank reconciliations regularly and follow through on outstanding items to ensure proper cash accuracy.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to gather financial information, clarify transactions, and support accounting deliverables.
• Review financial records for completeness and consistency, identifying issues that require correction or follow-up.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of accounting experience, including work in a senior-level accounting capacity.
• Demonstrated experience managing month-end close responsibilities in a deadline-driven setting.
• Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting and journal entry preparation.
• Proven ability to perform account reconciliations and analyze variances with accuracy.
• Experience completing bank reconciliations and resolving related discrepancies.
• High attention to detail with solid organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a Contract role.

Compensation

$28.00-$35.00 Hourly
