Legal Secretary
Responsibilities:
• Prepare, format, and finalize litigation documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery materials, correspondence, and other case-related filings.
• Maintain attorney calendars by tracking court dates, filing deadlines, depositions, hearings, mediations, and other critical litigation events.
• Coordinate the preparation of materials for trial, arbitration, mediation, and depositions, including exhibits, witness binders, and supporting case documents.
• File legal documents through Texas state court e-filing systems while ensuring compliance with court rules, procedures, and deadlines.
• Organize case records, document productions, and litigation databases so attorneys can quickly access accurate and current information.
• Support discovery efforts by assembling information, reviewing incoming materials, and assisting with the preparation of responses and related documentation.
• Communicate professionally with clients, court staff, opposing counsel, experts, and other parties involved in active matters.
• Draft case updates, summaries, and administrative reports that help attorneys monitor progress and prepare for upcoming litigation milestones.
Qualifications:
• At least 3 years of experience in a legal secretary or litigation support role.• Background supporting attorneys in litigation matters such as commercial disputes, business litigation, insurance defense, personal injury defense, or other complex civil cases.
• Working knowledge of Texas state court procedures, filing requirements, and deadline management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and legal document or case management systems.
• Strong understanding of legal terminology, discovery workflows, and trial preparation support.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, along with a high level of professionalism and discretion.
