Lead Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Lead Accountant to support core accounting operations for a logistics-focused organization in Savannah, Georgia. This role will contribute to timely financial reporting, maintain accuracy across daily transactions, and help strengthen accounting processes in a fast-moving environment. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience across general ledger activity, payroll, and balance sheet support, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Support the monthly close process by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and helping ensure deadlines are met.

• Prepare and review financial reports, providing clear analysis of operating results, revenue activity, and expense trends.

• Manage lease accounting activities for company vehicles and other applicable assets, including ongoing tracking and required accounting treatment.

• Maintain fixed asset and inventory records, including asset additions, amortization, depreciation, and periodic reconciliation.

• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring invoices, vendor payments, and customer billing are recorded accurately.

• Assist in establishing and maintaining accounting procedures and controls within QuickBooks Enterprise following the organization's updated system environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

• At least 3-4 years of accounting experience, ideally within supply chain, transportation, or logistics-focused operations.

• Working knowledge of month-end close, general ledger accounting, and journal entry preparation.

• Experience with fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation, amortization, and asset record maintenance.

• Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and high-volume invoice processing.

• Understanding of payroll accounting, payroll reconciliations, and related tax considerations.

• Experience using QuickBooks, including QuickBooks Desktop or QuickBooks Enterprise.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage detailed financial data accurately and efficiently.

Compensation

$60,000.00-$80,000.00 Yearly
