Full Charge Bookkeeper

We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented accounting specialist to help manage daily financial activities for a portfolio of marina operations in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This role works closely with leadership to keep records accurate, support reporting deadlines, and maintain smooth accounting workflows across multiple entities. The position can be shaped around the candidate’s background, making it a strong fit for someone with solid bookkeeping or broader accounting experience who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-moving setting.

Responsibilities:
• Manage day-to-day accounting activities for several marina entities and the parent organization while partnering with the Controller on financial operations.
• Record journal entries, maintain ledger accuracy, and ensure transactions are properly classified across all assigned companies.
• Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles by preparing schedules, reconciling accounts, and resolving outstanding items.
• Review invoices, assign correct coding, coordinate disbursements, and support timely accounts payable processing.
• Perform reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts to ensure complete and accurate reporting.
• Assist with payroll-related accounting tasks, cash monitoring, and preparation of internal financial reports for management review.
• Maintain detailed support for accruals, prepaid items, fixed assets, and other key account balances.
• Respond to audit and compliance requests, help prepare tax-related documentation, and support sales tax filing activities as needed.
• Examine financial submissions from onsite marina teams, investigate inconsistencies, and follow through to correct discrepancies.
• Help establish accounting procedures for newly added properties and recommend improvements to reporting practices and internal controls.

Qualifications:

• Background in full-charge bookkeeping, bookkeeping, or general accounting with the ability to manage core financial tasks independently.
• Strong knowledge of accounting fundamentals, including general ledger activity, reconciliations, and closing processes.
• Practical experience handling accounts payable, financial reporting support, and payroll-related accounting responsibilities.
• Familiarity with accounting across multiple entities, locations, or properties is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and solid Excel skills for analysis, tracking, and reporting.
• High level of organization, accuracy, and attention to detail with the ability to meet recurring deadlines.
• Clear communication skills and sound judgment when resolving discrepancies or coordinating with internal teams.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; comparable hands-on experience will also be considered.

Compensation

$60,000.00-$80,000.00 Yearly
