Accounting Assistant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join an organization in Oregon. This opportunity is well suited for someone who enjoys accurate financial data processing and is interested in building experience across accounts payable and payroll support. The position will play an important role in maintaining timely invoice handling, payroll backup, and dependable administrative accounting support for multiple locations.

Responsibilities:

• Process a steady weekly volume of invoices, ensuring coding, entry, and documentation are completed with a high level of accuracy.

• Support accounts payable activities by preparing payment runs on a regular schedule and helping keep vendor transactions current.

• Serve as backup support for payroll functions, assisting with biweekly payroll activities for employees across multiple store locations.

• Prepare and process final paychecks promptly and accurately in alignment with payroll deadlines.

• Enter numeric and financial information into internal systems with careful attention to detail and data integrity.

• Use Excel and accounting system on a daily basis

• Collaborate with accounting team members to provide reliable administrative support and help maintain organized financial operations.

Qualifications:

• Experience with accounts payable, invoice coding, or related accounting support work is preferred.

• Ability to perform high-volume numeric data entry with strong accuracy and attention to detail.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel for basic tracking, review, and recordkeeping tasks.

• Working knowledge of accounting systems or the ability to learn accounting systems quickly.

• Exposure to payroll processing or payroll support responsibilities is helpful.

• Comfortable supporting multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail or distribution environment.
