Project Manager
Position Summary
A growing commercial construction organization is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful execution of complex construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This individual will be responsible for project planning, financial management, team leadership, client communication, and overall project delivery.
The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong construction experience who can effectively manage schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and client relationships while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead construction projects through all phases, including preconstruction, execution, and closeout.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, forecasting, profitability, and overall financial performance.
- Coordinate and communicate with clients, design teams, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve project challenges related to scope, schedule, quality, and cost.
- Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure project requirements are met.
- Oversee project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting notes, and closeout materials.
- Prepare and negotiate project buyouts, subcontract agreements, and purchase orders.
- Monitor jobsite progress through regular site visits, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity standards are maintained.
- Track labor, material, and subcontract costs while maintaining accurate financial forecasts.
- Facilitate project meetings and provide regular updates to leadership and clients.
- Mentor and support project team members, helping drive successful project outcomes.
- Maintain a strong focus on customer satisfaction, schedule adherence, quality, safety, and profitability.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Building Science, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience within commercial construction.
- Experience with mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, or other MEP-related construction projects is highly desired.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.
- Experience with design-build, preconstruction, and collaborative project delivery methods preferred.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and Word.
- Experience using project management software such as Procore, PlanGrid, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
Compensation
