Bookkeeper

A busy company in the West Caldwell area is seeking a Bookkeeper to join their growing business. This Bookkeeper will get the chance to oversee core accounting activities and keep financial records accurate, current, and well organized for their team. This Bookkeeper role supports day-to-day finance operations by managing transaction processing, account reconciliation, and periodic close activities while helping leadership make informed budgeting and planning decisions. The ideal Bookkeeper brings strong bookkeeping expertise, sound judgment, and a careful approach to handling confidential financial information. Other responsibilities of this Bookkeeper will include but not be limited to:

Bookkeeper Responsibilities:

• Record and maintain day-to-day financial activity with a high level of accuracy and organization across all bookkeeping files and reports.

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including vendor communication, invoice tracking, payment follow-up, and collection support.

• Reconcile bank activity and general ledger balances to identify discrepancies and keep accounting records aligned.

• Prepare routine financial statements and supporting reports for management review and internal decision-making.

• Complete month-end and year-end close tasks on schedule to ensure timely and reliable financial reporting.

• Monitor tax-related obligations and help ensure filings and financial records remain compliant with applicable requirements and deadlines.

• Collaborate with leadership on budgeting efforts, cash flow visibility, and forecast preparation by providing accurate financial data.

• Serve as a trusted accounting resource for internal stakeholders by responding to financial questions and supporting operational needs.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in bookkeeping or full-cycle accounting with hands-on responsibility for daily financial operations.

• Working knowledge of bookkeeping standards, accounting fundamentals, and standard financial reporting practices.

• Proficiency in accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.

• Strong Excel skills, including data organization, reporting support, and spreadsheet management.

• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate records.

• Strong communication skills and discretion when handling confidential financial and business information.

• Experience supporting a manufacturing environment is beneficial; an associate degree in accounting or a related business field is preferred.

Compensation

$65,000.00-$75,000.00 Yearly
