Robert Half is working with a well-respected manufacturing company to find a Design Engineer to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who can independently turn early-stage ideas into fully documented designs that are ready for manufacturing and work with the customer directly along the way. You will blend creativity with practical execution, working closely with production partners to ensure each concept is clearly defined, accurately modeled, and feasible to build.


Responsibilities:

• Develop original product and component concepts by interpreting customer needs and turning initial ideas into clear design solutions.

• Create detailed 3D models, technical drawings, and bills of materials that support efficient and accurate shop floor execution.

• Oversee assigned design projects from concept through release, maintaining organized files, revision history, and up-to-date documentation.

• Partner with manufacturing personnel to confirm designs are practical, buildable, and aligned with production capabilities.

• Review and refine drawings as needed to address changes, improve clarity, and support successful fabrication outcomes.

• Help strengthen team efficiency by contributing to improved design tools, workflows, and standardized methods.

• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and recommend more effective approaches to design and production support.


Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in production design, design engineering, or a related role supporting manufacturing environments.

• Recent technical college grads with strong portfolios are encouraged to apply. So are career changers who’ve spent time in a shop or fabrication environment and taught themselves CAD.

• Proficiency in 3D modeling and computer-aided design tools, including AutoCAD.

• Demonstrated ability to produce accurate technical drawings and complete bills of materials for production use.

• Strong understanding of how to translate design concepts and sketches into manufacturable documentation.

• Experience coordinating with production or fabrication teams to support successful build execution.

• Ability to interpret technical drawings and manage multiple design details with a high degree of accuracy.

• Organized project management skills, including document control, revision tracking, and version management.


Compensation

$75,000.00-$100,000.00 Yearly
