Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations for a Contract position based in Frisco, Texas. This role will focus on maintaining accurate financial records, preparing routine accounting entries, and assisting with tax-related activities across corporate and sales tax areas. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to manage recurring accounting tasks with consistency and accuracy.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and record journal entries to support monthly and periodic accounting activity while maintaining accuracy in the general ledger.
• Reconcile account balances, investigate discrepancies, and help ensure financial data is complete and properly documented.
• Support corporate tax processes by organizing financial information used in tax reporting and return preparation.
• Assist with sales tax activities, including compiling transaction data, reviewing supporting records, and helping maintain compliance documentation.
• Maintain and update accounting records in alignment with internal controls, established policies, and reporting timelines.
• Collaborate with finance and business partners to gather information, resolve accounting questions, and improve reporting accuracy.
• Contribute to month-end close efforts by completing assigned accounting tasks and preparing supporting schedules as needed.

Qualifications:

• Experience working in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role.

• Working knowledge of corporate tax principles and exposure to corporate tax return support.

• Familiarity with sales tax processes and related accounting documentation.

• Hands-on experience preparing journal entries and maintaining general ledger accuracy.

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify variances and resolve issues efficiently.

• Proficiency with standard accounting systems and spreadsheet-based financial analysis.

• NetSuite experience Required

Compensation

$28.50-$33.00 Hourly
