Inventory Clerk
We are looking for an Inventory Clerk to support a design studio by keeping textile samples, materials, and related inventory accurate, orderly, and easy for the team to access. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on organization, works carefully with physical materials, and can contribute to a well-maintained studio experience for both colleagues and visiting clients. The role offers exposure to a creative, design-focused environment where attention to detail and dependable inventory practices are essential.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the textile sample storage area by arranging materials in a clear, consistent system that allows quick retrieval and accurate identification.
• Enter newly received samples into the inventory system, confirming records are complete and materials are cataloged correctly.
• Monitor stock levels on an ongoing basis and coordinate replenishment of samples and supplies before shortages affect studio needs.
• Prepare and gather sample selections for designers when materials are needed for presentations, meetings, or project work.
• Welcome studio visitors in a courteous and attentive manner while maintaining an organized and client-ready environment.
• Receive incoming deliveries, inspect contents, and place materials in the appropriate storage locations promptly and accurately.
• Use ladders safely to access elevated shelving and maintain organization across storage areas with varying heights.
• Provide day-to-day support for operations and design teams by assisting with additional inventory coordination and administrative tasks as priorities shift.

Qualifications:
• Previous experience in inventory control, stockroom coordination, office organization, or a related support role is preferred.
• Strong organizational ability with careful attention to labeling, record accuracy, and material handling.
• Comfort working with physical inventory, including standing, bending, climbing ladders, and lifting items up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to learn inventory tracking or sample management software quickly and use digital tools confidently.
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach when working with designers, operations staff, and studio visitors.
• Interest in textiles, interiors, furnishings, or design-related materials is helpful for success in this environment.
• Availability to work on-site in San Francisco, California on a consistent basis.
