Grant Accountant
Robert Half is seeking an experienced Grant Accountant to join our Full-Time Engagement Professionals (FTEP) program and support a client managing a $20 million federally funded grant. This highly visible project will require significant grant administration, compliance oversight, and financial reporting as the organization simultaneously navigates an ERP system transition.
The ideal candidate will bring experience with federal grant accounting and administration, thrive in a compliance-driven environment, and be able to manage detailed financial reporting requirements under significant regulatory scrutiny.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the financial administration and accounting of federally funded grant programs.
- Track grant expenditures and ensure compliance with federal funding requirements, regulations, and reporting deadlines.
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation supporting grant activity, reimbursements, and allowable costs.
- Monitor grant budgets and provide ongoing financial analysis and reporting.
- Coordinate and support annual external audits, including preparation of schedules and audit documentation.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure proper grant compliance and administrative controls are maintained.
- Assist with financial reporting requirements for federal agencies and grantors.
- Support the organization's ERP system transition by validating data, reviewing financial processes, and ensuring grant-related requirements are incorporated into the new system.
- Identify process improvements to strengthen compliance, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Maintain organized records to support grant monitoring, audits, and regulatory reviews.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3+ years of grant accounting experience.
- Experience with federal grant administration, compliance, and reporting required.
- Strong understanding of grant accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
- Experience supporting annual audits.
- Ability to manage complex projects with multiple deadlines.
- Strong Excel, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Experience supporting ERP implementations or system conversions is highly preferred.
