Endpoint Management Engineer
Overview
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Endpoint Management Engineer to help elevate and mature its enterprise endpoint management program. This is a senior-level role focused on both strategy and execution, partnering closely with leadership and other senior engineers to drive endpoint management initiatives across a global environment of approximately 3,500 endpoints.
This is not a day-to-day support position. The team already has resources handling operational activities. Instead, they are looking for someone who can take a holistic view of the endpoint ecosystem, define best practices, build scalable programs, and provide technical direction while remaining hands-on when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the maturation of enterprise endpoint management capabilities across Windows and macOS environments.
- Serve as the primary Windows endpoint subject matter expert while partnering closely with an existing Mac-focused SME.
- Develop and implement endpoint management strategy, standards, and operational roadmaps.
- Drive improvements around Microsoft Intune and overall endpoint lifecycle management.
- Build and enhance endpoint-related CMDB processes and asset classification standards.
- Design, maintain, and optimize enterprise endpoint deployment and provisioning processes, including golden image strategy.
- Establish scalable patch management and endpoint update programs for Windows devices.
- Resolve challenges related to Windows updates, Dell driver deployments, endpoint stability, and reboot management.
- Partner with Security and IAM teams on device identity, access management, and endpoint security initiatives.
- Support Entra ID integration efforts and endpoint-related authentication and access controls.
- Evaluate current tools, processes, and technologies and make recommendations for improvement.
- Create documentation, operational standards, governance processes, and strategic roadmaps.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers responsible for day-to-day endpoint operations.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of enterprise endpoint management experience.
- Deep expertise administering and supporting Microsoft Intune in large-scale environments.
- Strong Windows endpoint management experience, ideally in environments supporting thousands of endpoints.
- Experience managing endpoint patching, OS updates, driver deployments, and endpoint lifecycle management.
- Experience building and maintaining endpoint imaging and device provisioning standards.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and modern endpoint management practices.
- Experience partnering with security and IAM teams on endpoint-related initiatives.
- Ability to operate at both a strategic and hands-on technical level.
- Strong troubleshooting, process improvement, and program development skills.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence technical and business stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting both Windows and macOS environments.
- Workspace ONE experience.
- Experience managing Dell enterprise endpoint fleets.
- Experience improving CMDB maturity and asset management processes.
- Experience creating endpoint governance, standards, and operational frameworks.
- Exposure to SaaS management, Azure infrastructure, or broader IT Operations initiatives.
What Will Make Someone Stand Out
- Demonstrated success building or maturing enterprise endpoint management programs.
- Ability to take a holistic view across infrastructure, endpoint management, identity, security, and operations.
- Experience driving strategic initiatives while remaining capable of executing hands-on technical work.
- Proven track record improving endpoint reliability, patch compliance, and end-user experience in large-scale environments.
