Medical Billing Specialist

A growing healthcare organization is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join their team in Greenacres, FL. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with medical collections and accounts receivable experience who enjoys investigating claim issues, working with insurance carriers, and helping drive revenue cycle performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) to determine:
• Services billed
• Insurance coverage and adjustments
• Payment amounts
• Patient responsibility
• Manage and work denial and collections queues within EPIC.
• Investigate and resolve denied or underpaid claims in a timely manner.
• Follow up with insurance companies to resolve discrepancies and secure payment.
• Submit claim corrections and appeals while ensuring compliance with filing deadlines.
• Document collection activity and account updates accurately within the system.
• Support overall Accounts Receivable (AR) performance and aging goals.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing and reimbursement issues.

Qualifications:

Qualifications

• 1+ years of medical collections, accounts receivable, or medical billing experience.
• Strong understanding of EOBs, insurance claims, and reimbursement processes.
• Experience working in EPIC preferred.
• Ability to navigate claim denials and communicate effectively with insurance carriers.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
