Desktop Support

We are looking for a detail-oriented Desktop Support specialist to provide hands-on technical assistance in a fast-paced marine terminal environment in Florida. This long-term contract position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving end-user issues, working directly with physical IT infrastructure, and staying active throughout the day rather than sitting in a traditional office. The role supports approximately 46 onsite users and requires a strong service mindset, solid troubleshooting ability, and comfort working around operational equipment while following site safety requirements.

Responsibilities:
• Deliver second-level desktop and help desk support for onsite staff, resolving day-to-day technical issues across user devices and connected systems.
• Diagnose and address problems involving Windows workstations, software applications, network connectivity, and peripheral equipment.
• Maintain and support onsite hardware such as switches, routers, servers, cameras, badge or ID systems, and other network-connected technology.
• Perform user account administration and assist with directory services tasks, including support related to Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Monitor, organize, and update inventory records for computers, accessories, and other IT assets used across the facility.
• Respond to service requests through a ticketing platform and ensure issues are tracked, updated, and closed in a timely manner.
• Provide in-person technical assistance to end users across the terminal, delivering clear communication and a high level of customer support.
• Move throughout the facility to inspect, troubleshoot, and restore equipment in an active, operations-focused setting.
• Follow site safety expectations, including the use of required protective gear while working around terminal equipment and infrastructure.

Qualifications:

• Experience supporting desktop, help desk, or end-user computing environments with a strong focus on issue resolution.
• Working knowledge of Windows operating systems, including Windows 10, and general Microsoft desktop support.
• Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, and basic network troubleshooting concepts.
• Ability to support physical IT infrastructure such as switches, routers, servers, and related onsite equipment.
• Experience using ticket management tools such as ServiceNow, ConnectWise, or a comparable service desk platform.
• Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to assist users effectively in person.
• Comfortable working onsite in a non-office, industrial environment that requires walking throughout the facility.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred; entry-level candidates with relevant technical aptitude are also encouraged to apply.
