Staff Accountant

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join a team in Los Angeles, California on a Long-term Contract assignment. This position will contribute to day-to-day accounting activities, support accurate financial reporting, and help keep financial records organized and current. The role is well suited for someone who is comfortable working with core accounting processes, maintaining general ledger integrity, and assisting with reporting, tax-related work, and close activities.

Responsibilities:

• Record accounting activity through well-prepared journal entries and verify balances by completing timely account reconciliations.

• Contribute to monthly and annual closing processes by organizing schedules, reviewing balances, and resolving routine discrepancies.

• Maintain complete and accurate financial files, ensuring supporting records are properly documented and easy to retrieve.

• Assist in producing financial statements, internal reports, and analysis that support informed business decisions.

• Provide accounting support across accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as business needs require.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 2 years of accounting experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of core accounting practices, including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
• Experience using Excel and accounting software in a work environment.
• Familiarity with corporate tax, sales tax, or corporate tax return support is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to organize work effectively and meet deadlines.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across accounting-related functions.

Compensation

$27.71-$32.09 Hourly
