Accounting Manager

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to provide steady leadership for a high-performing accounting team in Fargo, North Dakota. This Long-term Contract position will focus on strengthening revenue recognition practices, improving financial reporting, and supporting operational accounting initiatives across a multi-branch environment. The person in this role will work closely with accounting and business intelligence partners to refine processes, elevate reporting quality, and help the team deliver accurate, timely results.

Responsibilities:
• Lead, coach, and support a team of entry-level accounting analysts while fostering accountability and career growth.
• Review team deliverables for accuracy and completeness, coordinating with senior staff to maintain strong quality standards.
• Partner with key stakeholders on revenue recognition initiatives and help advance consistent accounting practices across the organization.
• Guide the development of a more uniform progress billing approach across numerous branch locations with varying existing workflows.
• Identify and recommend opportunities to improve accounting processes tied to order flow, billing, and commission-related activities.
• Oversee revenue recognition compliance efforts and contribute to enhancements that strengthen control and reporting accuracy.
• Support fixed asset accounting activities and ensure records, reporting, and related processes remain well managed.
• Work with business intelligence partners to improve data quality, strengthen reconciliations, and expand reporting capabilities through Power BI and integrated data sources.
• Enhance month-end and board reporting by refining dashboards, financial reports, and cross-functional reporting processes.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience leading or supervising accounting staff in a fast-paced business environment.
• Strong background in revenue recognition and its application within operational accounting processes.
• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze large data sets and interpret financial information effectively.
• Solid experience with financial reporting, month-end close, general ledger activity, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Hands-on knowledge of Power BI and the ability to support reporting improvements through data-driven analysis.
• Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA or comparable enterprise accounting systems.
• Experience overseeing fixed asset accounting and maintaining accurate supporting records.

Compensation

$55.00-$75.00 Hourly
