Accounting Manager

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to provide steady leadership and hands-on support for a Long-term Contract assignment in Earth City, Missouri. This role will guide daily accounting operations, keep critical reporting activities on track, and help maintain continuity across the team during a period of transition. The position is ideal for someone who can balance people leadership with detailed execution in a fast-paced accounting environment.

Responsibilities:
• Direct the full month-end close cycle, ensuring deadlines are met and financial results are complete and accurate.
• Supervise general ledger activity, journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations across core accounting processes.
• Lead, coach, and review the work of accounting staff, providing day-to-day guidance to support quality and consistency.
• Manage detailed vendor rebate accounting activities by coordinating documentation, validating data, and resolving exceptions that could affect revenue capture.
• Oversee inventory-related accounting and reconciliation work to support accurate valuation and financial reporting.
• Monitor accounting output for compliance, accuracy, and timeliness, addressing issues before they impact reporting.
• Investigate discrepancies within close and reporting cycles, identify root causes, and implement practical corrective actions.
• Support the team’s use of Microsoft Dynamics 365 by providing functional guidance and helping strengthen process execution within the system.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of experience in an Accounting Manager or comparable accounting leadership position.
• Strong working knowledge of month-end close, general ledger management, journal entries, and account reconciliation.
• Experience with inventory accounting, including reconciliation and reporting oversight.
• Hands-on proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) in an accounting environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume, detail-sensitive vendor rebate programs or similar processes.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve accounting discrepancies effectively.
• Strong communication and team leadership skills, with a willingness to remain actively involved in daily execution.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort working with large data sets and financial detail.
