SEC Compliance Manager/Director
We are looking for an experienced SEC Compliance Manager/Director to lead regulatory reporting and strengthen compliance practices within a financial services environment in Chicago, Illinois. This role will oversee the preparation and review of filings, guide financial reporting compliance efforts, and partner with senior stakeholders to uphold reporting accuracy and governance standards. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of SEC requirements, strong leadership capability, and the judgment to navigate complex disclosure matters in a highly regulated setting.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the planning, preparation, and submission of SEC filings, ensuring all disclosures are accurate, complete, and delivered on schedule.
• Direct compliance activities related to external financial reporting and maintain alignment with applicable regulatory standards and disclosure requirements.
• Partner with finance, legal, internal audit, and executive leadership to resolve reporting issues and support sound governance practices.
• Review reporting processes and controls to identify gaps, strengthen compliance, and improve the quality of regulatory submissions.
• Interpret new or evolving SEC guidance and translate regulatory changes into practical reporting requirements for the organization.
• Oversee documentation supporting filings and compliance reviews, maintaining clear audit trails and readiness for internal or external examination.
• Use reporting and monitoring tools, including Splunk where applicable, to support oversight, risk identification, and compliance analysis.
• Provide leadership and subject matter expertise to team members and stakeholders on SEC reporting expectations and best practices.

Qualifications:
• 10+ years of experience in SEC reporting, regulatory compliance, or external financial reporting within a regulated industry.• Demonstrated expertise in SEC filing requirements and a strong understanding of Exchange Commission rules and disclosure standards.
• CPA designation required.
• Proven ability to lead complex compliance or reporting functions with a high degree of accuracy and accountability.
• Experience working with financial reporting frameworks, internal controls, and cross-functional governance processes.
• Proficiency with compliance, reporting, or monitoring platforms such as Splunk is preferred.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to explain complex regulatory matters clearly.
Compensation
