Billing Clerk

We are looking for a detail-oriented Billing Clerk to support day-to-day receivables and payment processing activities in Sterling, Virginia. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who is organized, dependable, and comfortable managing financial transactions in a fast-paced office setting. The role focuses on accurate payment application, record maintenance, and routine reconciliation while also assisting with general administrative support as needed.

Responsibilities:
• Manage accounts receivable transactions and maintain accurate billing records for timely processing.
• Post customer payments into internal systems and verify that transactions are recorded correctly.
• Retrieve payments from designated PO boxes and ensure all collected checks are securely handled.
• Prepare and scan check documentation to maintain complete digital records for audit and tracking purposes.
• Enter check details into the billing system and apply funds to the appropriate customer accounts.
• Review, reconcile, and release payment batches to support accurate financial reporting.
• Assist with routine billing-related assignments and provide support for additional departmental tasks as needed.
• Use office and billing software to organize records, process transactions, and maintain documentation efficiently.

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, or payment processing roles.
• Working knowledge of cash application, payment posting, and billing statement support.
• Experience performing account reconciliation and handling electronic or check-based payments.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks accurately while meeting daily processing deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort learning billing or accounting systems.
• Familiarity with NetSuite, PestPac, or similar billing platforms is helpful but not required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally to collect payments from PO boxes when needed.

Compensation

$23.75-$27.50 Hourly
