Tax Preparer

An established full-service public accounting firm is looking for a Tax Preparer to join its growing team. This firm serves a diverse client base ranging from individuals and small businesses to partnerships and corporations, offering employees exposure to a wide variety of tax engagements and opportunities for professional development.

What You'll Do

Tax Preparation

• Prepare federal and state individual, business, partnership, and corporate tax returns
• Review financial information provided by clients for completeness and accuracy
• Communicate directly with clients to obtain missing documentation
• Research tax questions and assist with planning opportunities
• Maintain organized electronic tax files and supporting documentation

Client Support

• Build relationships with clients throughout tax season
• Respond to tax-related questions professionally and promptly
• Assist senior staff with special tax projects and notices
• Stay current on federal and California tax law changes

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years preparing individual and business tax returns
• Experience independently completing tax engagements from initial document review through final filing
• Enrolled Agent designation (or actively working toward obtaining it) or CPA candidate preferred
• Experience using tax preparation software such as Lacerte, UltraTax, ProSystem fx, or CCH Axcess
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple client deadlines during busy tax seasons
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
