Employee Relations Consultant

Brentwood, TN 37207, US Remote Temporary
Compensation: $48 to $57 Hourly

Our client is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Consultant to provide interim support for approximately 6 to 8 weeks. This consultant will serve as a trusted advisor to HR leadership and business leaders, managing workplace investigations, providing guidance on employee relations matters, and recommending process improvements to strengthen overall employee relations practices.

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned employee relations professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can independently manage complex employee issues while maintaining a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage approximately 3–5 employee relations investigations per week, including intake, fact-finding, documentation, analysis, and resolution.
  • Partner with HR leaders and management teams to provide guidance on employee relations issues and support consistent application of company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct thorough workplace investigations involving performance concerns, policy violations, employee complaints, and other sensitive matters.
  • Maintain accurate case records, investigation documentation, and reporting using Excel-based tracking tools.
  • Prepare clear and comprehensive investigation summaries, findings, and recommendations.
  • Identify trends and recurring employee relations issues and provide recommendations to mitigate risk and improve workplace culture.
  • Review existing employee relations processes, workflows, and documentation practices and recommend improvements, efficiencies, and best practices.
  • Support senior HR leadership with employee relations reporting, special projects, and additional human resources initiatives as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with employment laws, policies, and organizational standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Significant experience in Employee Relations, Human Resources, or a related HR specialty.
  • Demonstrated success conducting workplace investigations and managing complex employee relations matters.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple investigations and competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of employment practices, workplace policies, and employee relations best practices.
  • Experience evaluating and improving employee relations processes and procedures.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of an organization.
  • Strong documentation, analytical, organizational, and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive situations.

Preferred Experience

  • Proven ability to identify process improvement opportunities and implement practical, scalable solutions.
