Inventory Controls Remediation Consultant
We are looking for an experienced Inventory Controls Remediation Consultant to lead a high-impact initiative focused on strengthening inventory processes and internal controls within a manufacturing setting in Dallas, Texas. This Long-term Contract opportunity is well suited for a detail-oriented individual who can evaluate current practices, uncover control weaknesses, and work cross-functionally to implement practical, lasting improvements. The role partners closely with operations, supply chain, warehouse, and finance stakeholders to increase inventory accuracy, improve visibility, and support a more disciplined operating environment.
This is a 3-month contract position, onsite 5 days a week in Wilmer, Texas.
Responsibilities:
• Examine end-to-end inventory activities to pinpoint breakdowns in controls and develop corrective actions that improve accuracy and compliance.
• Partner with operational and finance leaders to review how inventory is received, consumed, transferred, adjusted, and reconciled across the business.
• Strengthen procedures related to raw materials, production orders, warehouse transactions, and finished goods handling to reduce process inconsistencies.
• Analyze inventory ownership and movement throughout the supply chain to ensure transactions are recorded appropriately and supported by effective controls.
• Evaluate manufacturing and work order activity to identify discrepancies, process failures, and opportunities for tighter transaction discipline.
• Review stock rotation methods and product handling practices to promote adherence to expiration-based inventory usage standards where applicable.
• Identify inventory transactions taking place outside approved system workflows and recommend more controlled, sustainable operating methods.
• Create remediation roadmaps, process documentation, and workflow enhancements, then help drive implementation with cross-functional teams.
• Provide support for internal control reviews, audit preparedness, and remediation efforts tied to inventory-related findings.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or a related discipline.• At least 8 years of experience in inventory controls, inventory accounting, manufacturing finance, supply chain operations, or a comparable field.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing environments, including warehouse processes, work orders, bills of materials, and inventory transaction flows.
• Demonstrated experience leading remediation, process improvement, transformation, or internal control initiatives in operational settings.
• Solid understanding of inventory reconciliation practices, cycle counts, and audit-focused control requirements.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and adapt within a fast-moving environment with changing business needs.
• Strong analytical and root-cause problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate recommendations clearly to leadership teams.
• Experience with ERP platforms such as Epicor, Prophet 21, or similar systems is strongly preferred.
Compensation
