EHS Manager

Our client is looking for an experienced EHS Manager to guide environmental, health, and safety efforts at a manufacturing facility about 30 minutes west of Cookeville, Tennessee. This Contract position will work closely with site leadership to protect employees, uphold regulatory compliance, and provide steady oversight. The role is ideal for someone who can balance day-to-day safety leadership with detailed investigations, training, and compliance management in a dynamic industrial setting.

Responsibilities:

• Direct the site’s environmental, health, and safety programs, ensuring practical execution across daily operations.

• Lead reviews of workplace incidents, determine underlying causes, and drive corrective and preventive actions through completion.

• Design and deliver safety education for employees and supervisors to reinforce safe work practices and regulatory adherence.

• Perform routine inspections, audits, and hazard assessments to identify risks and strengthen site safety performance.

• Collaborate with plant leadership to address compliance priorities, employee well-being, and environmental obligations.

• Oversee required reporting and maintain alignment with applicable federal, state, and local EHS regulations.

• Keep policies, procedures, records, and training documentation current, accurate, and audit-ready.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience leading environmental, health, and safety programs within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

• Solid understanding of regulatory compliance, workplace incident investigation, and environmental reporting requirements.

• Hands-on background in conducting safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.

• Ability to develop training programs and communicate safety expectations clearly to diverse employee groups.

• Proven success partnering with operations, HR, and site leadership on cross-functional safety initiatives.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage documentation, compliance activities, and multiple priorities effectively.

• Effective leadership and communication skills with a practical, solutions-focused approach to workplace safety.
