Accounts Receivable Clerk

We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Clerk to join an organization in Troutman, North Carolina. This Long-term Contract opportunity is well suited for an accounting specialist who can help maintain accurate invoicing, support receivables activity, and keep customer accounts current. The role offers the chance to contribute to daily financial operations while working closely with internal teams to ensure timely payment processing and account follow-up.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and issue customer invoices accurately and on schedule, ensuring billing details are complete and aligned with account records.

• Record incoming payments and apply cash receipts to the appropriate customer balances with a high degree of accuracy.

• Monitor outstanding accounts and follow up with commercial customers to support timely collections and reduce overdue balances.

• Review account activity regularly to identify discrepancies, research payment issues, and resolve billing concerns efficiently.

• Maintain organized receivables documentation and update accounting records to reflect current account status.

• Communicate with internal departments and external customers to address questions related to invoices, payment application, and account balances.

• Assist with routine accounts receivable reporting to provide visibility into aging, collections activity, and cash posting progress.

Qualifications:

• Experience supporting accounts receivable operations in a detail-oriented business environment.
• Working knowledge of invoice processing, payment posting, and customer account reconciliation.
• Background handling commercial collections and communicating effectively with customers regarding outstanding balances.
• Ability to apply cash receipts accurately and manage a steady volume of daily transactions.
• Familiarity with billing functions and general accounting record maintenance.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and correct discrepancies in financial data.
• Effective organizational and communication skills to manage priorities and collaborate across teams.

Compensation

$20.90-$22.00 Hourly
