Accounting Manager
Responsibilities:
• Direct daily accounting operations, including oversight of the general ledger, account reconciliations, and the preparation of accurate journal entries.
• Lead monthly and annual close cycles by coordinating timelines, reviewing transactions, and ensuring financial results are reported on schedule.
• Prepare financial statements and supporting analyses for leadership, highlighting trends, performance drivers, and notable variances.
• Manage fixed asset accounting by monitoring capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and balance sheet accuracy.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities by compiling financial data, validating assumptions, and assisting with planning updates.
• Evaluate accounting workflows and internal controls, recommending and implementing improvements that increase accuracy and efficiency.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues, provide financial insight, and align reporting with operational activity.
• Assist with internal and external audit requirements by organizing documentation, answering inquiries, and maintaining compliance with applicable standards.
• Supervise and mentor accounting team members as needed, helping to establish priorities and maintain strong departmental performance.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.• Demonstrated experience managing general ledger activity, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
• Strong ability to prepare and interpret financial statements and use findings to support sound business decisions.
• Hands-on experience with fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, and asset reconciliation.
• Background in a manufacturing or industrial setting; exposure to international operations is preferred.
• Proficiency with accounting systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Knowledge of audit support practices, internal controls, and financial compliance requirements.
• Effective communication, organization, and leadership skills, with the ability to work on-site in Vista, California.
Compensation
