Sr. Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support our client in Rancho Murieta, California. This role is ideal for someone who brings a strong grasp of core accounting practices, can work efficiently with large volumes of financial data, and stays organized in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will help strengthen the accuracy of financial records while partnering with the team on key accounting activities related to reconciliations, entries, and close support.

Responsibilities:

• Review financial records and supporting documentation to identify and resolve discrepancies connected to audit cleanup.

• Prepare and post journal entries accurately while maintaining proper backup and alignment with accounting standards.

• Perform bank reconciliations and investigate outstanding items to ensure balances are complete and current.

• Assist with general ledger maintenance by analyzing account activity and correcting inconsistencies as needed.

• Support month-end closing tasks by organizing schedules, validating balances, and helping keep deadlines on track.

• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather accounting information and clarify open items affecting audit readiness.

• Use Excel to compile, analyze, and organize financial data for reporting, reconciliation, and account review purposes.

Qualifications:

• Experience in a Senior Accountant or similar accounting role with hands-on exposure to general ledger activities.

• Solid understanding of journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliation processes.

• Proficiency in Excel, including the ability to manage and organize detailed financial data effectively.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and maintain accuracy under deadlines.

• Background in bank reconciliations, month-end close support, and accounts payable activities.

• Ability to work onsite fulltime for the duration of the assignment.
